Author credt

Along with the default expectation, the members should agree on what journal should be selected for the first try and, if that is rejected, which one should be approached next.

In many collaborations, there is a clear leader, who then should decide where to submit the work.  The team also should decide who writes the first draft, independent of which journal is approached first;

Most authorship problems, be they among a team or between student and advisor, stem from not having had a clear position reached at the beginning of the work. And this should be written and agreed to by all parties.Alhough this is legalistic, it can avoid much pain after years of research work is being prepared for publication..
