Foul air is unfair
This case sounds too melodramatic to be fiction. Engineer E is apparently guilty of conflict of interest through romantic involvement with client N, and irresponsibility in failing to keep adequate records of the as-built measurements. In addition, if the signed and sealed plans were not the actual as-built plans, then E would be guilty of fraud. In the final chapter, before turning over the plans, E appears to engage in extortion.
Of course, the melodrama is told from the point of view of F, and to make a fair and reasoned judgment, we need to hear from E. At this point, it appears that F needs to take legal action. In addition, F should submit evidence of E’s unprofessional behavior to the licensing board.
